Originally trained as an Electrical Engineer, Christopher M. Anderson has been working with microscopy and scientific instrumentation for over a decade. He has worked in design, manufacturing, and the lab.  Most recently, he has been with 89 North working with lasers and spinning disk confocal microscopy since 2018.

Austin Blanco President at Advanced Research Consulting Group, Bay area, California

Austin Blanco has 20 years of experience in the microscopy industry. For the last 10 years, he has owned Advanced Research Consulting Corp, an optomechanical integration firm with customers in live cell microscopy, industrial research, aviation, remote sensing, optics, and photonics.

Nico StuurmanSoftware Developer at Micro-Manager, Bay area, California

Nico Stuurman is a Microscopy Specialist at Altos Labs, a start-up revolutionizing medicine through cellular rejuvenation.  Previously, he was a Research Specialist at the University of California, San Francisco, in the lab of Ron Vale. Nico combines his expertise in computer programming and microscopy to advance many projects including the Open Source software, Micro-Manager.

Sonia Montanari is a Business Development Specialist at CrestOptics supporting the company’s organizational, financial, and strategic goals within North America.
As a graduate of the University of Bologna, she earned her doctorate from the University of Toronto and then worked for a microscopy company as a Sales Representative and Imaging Specialist for several years, where she gained a thorough understanding of the world of microscopy and technology. With a broad range of academic research expertise and microscopy experience, she has unique insight into the field of science. Bringing cutting-edge solutions to CrestOptics’ customers and expanding brand awareness are driven by her passion for scientific research, technical aspects, business, and sales.
