Engineered nano-fibers and green chemistry applications

Bicontinuous emulsions made of oil and water have been engineered into nano-structures and they have broad spectrum of applications in green chemistry.
Here we show nano-structures filled with Nile Red acquired with X-Light V3 Confocal Spinning Disk (Nikon CFI Plan Apo Lambda 60X Oil objective) and deconvolved with Richardson-Lucy algorithm.

Green chemistry is rapidly gaining relevance all around the world since there is a growing need to develop renewable resources such as biomass as the feedstock for the chemical industry and as an energy source, in order to minimize the use of non-renewable resources (e.g. coal, petroleum) which cause pollution problems.
