Up-to-date technologies allow researchers to see deeper than ever. Advances come from high-end microscopes and from new sample preparation methods. Here we combine the use of our latest V3-CrestOptics Confocal Spinning Disk together with the RapiClear tissue clearing method (click here for further details on clearing method).
In particular, 550 um mouse intestine and kidney tissue sections were acquired with low (4x, 20x) and high magnification objectives (60x) obtaining spectacular images shown below.
Intestine sample was stained with Alexa Fluor 488 wheat germ agglutinin labeling blood vessels (green), Alexa Fluor 633 anti-LYVE1 antibody labeling lymphatic vessels (magenta) and SYTOX Orange labeling nuclei (blue).
Kidney sample was stained with Alexa Fluor 488 labeling blood vessels (green) and Alexa Fluor 647 labeling neural circuits (magenta).
The possibility to perform fast high-quality imaging on large tissue section, even on entire organs of interest, may help researchers to characterize the phenotype at first sight under specific experimental conditions.
